Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 45th president of the United States at noon eastern time today. Immediately after thanking President Obama for his gracious help in the transfer of power, he lit into the Obama administration during his inaugural speech.
Here are streaming highlights from Breitbart:
12:03 PM: Trump opening: “People of the world, thank you.” Thanks the Obamas for “their gracious aid during this transition.”
12:06 PM: Trump continually hammers the theme of the people controlling the government — that it does not matter which party is in power if they serve their citizens and not themselves.
12:05 PM: Boomtown. Trump says of DC: “Their victories were not your victories.”
12:04 PM: Trump: We are not only transferring power in the White House, “we’re transferring the power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you — the people.”
12:08 PM: First big issue Trump mentions is the rising use of drugs and crime that comes with it.
12:13 PM: Trump: “We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and hire American.”
12:14 PM: Unity.
