A white college student was brutally stabbed to death by a black assailant last week, according to witnesses in a furniture store in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) put out a notice looking for 31-year-old Shawn Laval Smith, the suspect in the ghastly crime who they said on Tuesday was armed, dangerous and “highly likely to be using public transportation.”
The LAPD is offering $250,000 for information on the whereabouts of the suspected killer. Smith allegedly stabbed UCLA student 24-year-old Brianna Kupfer to death inside a furniture store where she worked on the afternoon of Jan. 13.
Covina Police Department officials announced that Smith was allowed to walk the streets due to lax criminal justice policies. Smith was released from jail without bail after being charged with a misdemeanor crime in Oct. 2020.
