CBS promptly fired company executive Hayley Geftman-Gold today as soon as she was exposed for writing on her Facebook wall, “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”
Good for them; of course they should have fired her.
But it’s a quick public relations fix in hopes it will prevent the more obvious question: how does a person who harbors such sickening vitriol for fellow human beings get hired for ANY company, let alone a media company that prides itself for sensitivity and political correctness?
It’s just one more example in a long line of hypocritical abuses of the public’s trust in the media.
The bias is real, and anyone who denies it is engaged in a sort of self-delusion that’s not a lot different than the sort members of Hitler’s SS employed to justify their atrocities.

A top legal executive at CBS, Hayley Geftman-Gold, said she “is not even sympathetic” for the victims of the shooting at a country music festival at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Sunday night.
“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” wrote Geftman-Gold on Facebook, perhaps referring to Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.”
Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nev. opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 country music concert goers from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas late Sunday night. More than 50 people are dead, and more than 400 others were left injured after the shooting spree finally ended when the shooter turned the gun on himself.
