DACA Is ‘Probably Dead’: Trump Blames Democrats

President Trump is playing hardball with Democrats as the deadline to fund the federal government looms.

Thursday is the last day to pass some sort of spending measure before the government runs out of money.

And Democrats have argued they won’t vote for any funding deal without an agreement on DACA renewal, with at least one congressman promising to boycott Trump’s first State of the Union Address.

But Trump tweeted this weekend DACA is ‘probably dead’ after blaming Dems for being all talk, no show on an agreement.

That means this week will promise a dogfight with the media going to guns in favor of Democrat rhetoric, viz. “Trump is a racist.”

It’s anyone’s guess how this will play out, but it’ll be fun to watch.

We’ll keep you posted.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

President Trump said Sunday a program allowing people who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children is “probably dead” because Democrats “don’t really want it.”

“[Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] is probably dead because the Democrats don’t really want it, they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military,” Trump tweeted.

Trump and congressional Republicans have struggled to make headway in negotiations with congressional Democrats as a government shutdown looms if no spending deal is reached by Jan. 19.

Democrats want to get a deal to allow the 800,000 illegal immigrants covered by the DACA program, which was instituted by President Obama, to stay in the country in the spending deal. Trump has refused to do that unless he gets funding for his wall along the southern border with Mexico in the deal as well.
