The FBI searched Joe Biden’s beach house near Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on Wednesday.
According to a source who spoke with NBC News, there was no warrant, and the search was consensual. It is not known whether the FBI is searching for something specific or if it is a more general search for classified materials.
Biden’s attorney said in a statement that the search was a part of Biden’s cooperation with authorities.
“Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate,” Bob Bauer said. “The search today is a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process we will continue to fully support and facilitate.
