The George Soros-backed takeover of 18 Hispanic radio stations is inevitably going to be a failure and will only censor conservative voices, according to two former hosts who resigned their positions.
Latino Media Network, a Soros-funded news company, bought the Spanish-language radio stations in June from TelevisaUnivision for an estimated $60 million. The Federal Communications Commission approved the deal in November – launching a progressive network of radio stations that has stirred up controversy among Hispanic communities who have remained anti-Communist after witnessing the fatal movement in Fidel Castro’s Cuba.
“This is going to be a failure – I am 100% sure of that,” Lourdes Ubieta, a Venezuelan ex-host for Radio Mambi, Miami’s conservative station that was also bought by Latino Media Network, told the New York Post.
“They did this to silence conservative Hispanic voices, but it’s not going to work,” added Ubieta, who quit her radio job during the summer. Read more…
