Democrats performed worse than Republicans on issues that were most important to voters in a Wednesday poll from Politico and Morning Consult.
On the economy, which 81% of respondents said would play a major role in their voting decision, 46% of voters trusted Republicans more while only 39% trusted Democrats more, the poll found. The survey comes amid a wave of Republican gains in midterm polling.
Another 80% of voters said inflation would play a major role in determining their vote, and 46% of respondents trusted Congressional Republicans on the issue compared to 37% who trusted Democrats more, according to the poll; 61% thought inflation is getting worse. Read more…
