Packers Stand for Anthem But Not for the Reason You Think

The NFL is feeling the heat from football fans around the country as TV ratings continue to fall and advertisers continue to jump ship.

So the Green Bay Packers thought they’d get creative and attempt to ride the fence.

Rather than further stoke the ire of some of the most die-hard fans in the league, players chose to stand during the anthem this week.

However, instead of placing their hands over their hearts in traditional respect for the flag, they stood arms locked in ‘unity’ for ‘equality and love’.

But the fans weren’t having any of that pink team silliness.

The crowd spontaneously broke out in a chant of “USA! USA! USA!” Score one for common sense, zero for leftist, milquetoast ideology.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

The Packers players wrote a long letter to their fans this week. A letter in which the team asked their fans to join them in interlocking arms during the anthem on Thursday night.

According to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, this was a moment that stood for, “…equality.” As well as “…unity and love, and growing together as a society and starting a conversation around something that may be a little bit uncomfortable for people.”

Well, as it turns out, most Packers fans didn’t want to have a “conversation,” weren’t interested in”growing together,” and certainly had no desire to be made “a little bit uncomfortable.” Instead, the activity most Packers fans elected to participate in when it came time to honor America, was to chant “USA! USA! USA!:”
