The House Intelligence committee is still investigating the unmasking of private U.S. citizens by Susan Rice during the presidential campaign.
And now a new report speculates that she wasn’t the only member of the Obama administration to have done so.
According to a letter to the Director of National Intelligence, one other official, suspected to be former U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Power, requested the unmasking of hundreds of individuals.
This despite having no clear need for access to that level and type of intelligence.
What is potentially forming is the story of a concerted effort by the Obama administration to conduct surveillance on hundreds of political opponents which would require unmasking for the purpose of disseminating intelligence information gathered on them.
This is a Watergate-level conspiracy the media would love to ignore.
Here’s more from Washington Examiner…
Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power attempted to “unmask” more than 260 Americans’ identities during 2016, even during the final days of the Obama administration.
Power is scheduled to testify on Capitol Hill in October, one of several Obama administration officials slated to do so, for her actions regarding revealing Trump associates’ identities in intelligence reports, according to Fox News.
House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., submitted a letter in July to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats that said the committee was aware “that one official, whose position had no apparent intelligence-related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama Administration.”
It is suspected that the official referenced is Power.
Power also was one of three top Obama administration officials named in subpoenas received by several of the nation’s intelligence agencies in May.
Power is not the first U.N. ambassador to make unmasking requests, but Fox News reports the requests fall in the low double digits.
