Starbucks Hit With Boycott After Pledging to Hire Refugees

We wondered in yesterday’s email update whether a boycott of Starbucks would emerge after an announcement by the CEO that they’ll be hiring 10,000 refugees in the next five years in response to President Trump’s ban.

Now it seems we have an answer to that question.

On Monday morning, the hashtag #BoycottStarbucks trended the highest on Twitter, in the wake of a pledge by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to hire 10,000 refugees.

Twitter users slammed the company, according to Fortune.

Supporters of the coffee chain said they would continue to buy products there because of the support for refugees.
