Trump Holds First Presser, Blasts Media and Intel Community

This morning’s headlines were laden with a triple hit of outrageous, and frankly odd, stories concerning Donald Trump, Russia and the intelligence community which appear to have been a concerted effort by Obama officials and a few media outlets to disgrace Trump with scandalously fake news.

And he refused to sit idly on this one. Today’s press conference was fiery as he took to task the media and officials for the outrage they deserve.

Here’s more from Newsmax:

President-elect Donald Trump used his first news conference of the year Wednesday to bash reports that Russia tried to use a dossier of alleged salacious reports as leverage over him.

“A thing like that should have never been written, it should never been had, and it should certainly never have been released,” Trump said.

“I want to thank a lot of the news organizations here today because they looked at that nonsense that was released by maybe the intelligence agencies, who knows, but maybe the intelligence agencies, which would be a tremendous blot on their record if they in fact did that,” Trump added.

Trump  said that if it the dossier was leaked by a member of the intelligence community, it “would be a tremendous blot on their record if they in fact did that.”

Trump’s remarks came after he was introduced by spokesman Sean Spicer blasted the unverified dossier  as “outrageous and highly irresponsible.”

“It’s frankly outrageous and highly irresponsible for a left wing blog that was openly hostile to the president-elect’s campaign to drop highly salacious and flat-out false information on the internet just days before he takes the oath of office,” said Spicer at Trump tower before introducing Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

“This political witch hunt by some in the media is based on some of the most flimsy reporting and is frankly shameful and disgraceful,” Spicer said.
