Why the FBI Re-Opened Hillary’s Email Investigation

By now the whole world knows the bombshell announcement that the FBI has re-opened its investigation into Hillary’s email server.

But the real reason for the re-investigation is more than meets the eye…

According to the New York Times:

In a letter to Congress, the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said that emails had surfaced in an unrelated case, and that they “appear to be pertinent to the investigation.”

Mr. Comey said the F.B.I. was taking steps to “determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.” He said he did not know how long it would take to review the emails, or whether the new information was significant.

But some are already speculating that the details revealed in the Wikileaks email dumps over the last week have put the FBI in a unique situation in which it has become clear that Hillary and her staff engage in a cover-up to prevent authorities from learning of her server.

This has put pressure on the FBI for two reasons. First, it’s clear the first investigation was not thorough. Second, it’s become clear that FBI agents in the middle ranks are ready revolt against Director Comey for his mismanagement of what should’ve been a slam-dunk investigation.
