Ukraine’s targeting of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant may result in the plant being shut down to prevent “another Chernobyl” from occurring by the fledgling Ukrainian government’s desperate and psychotic acts.
Igor Kirillov, a Russian Defense Ministry official, said the plant’s backup systems were severely damaged during recent Ukrainian bombing campaigns and the plant might need to be shut down as a result.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres recently met with Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky. Erdogan warned of the risk of total ecological disaster if Ukraine does not relent.
