Biden’s Defense Department Caught Hiding Controversial Diversity Agenda

Two years ago, Open The Books investigators exposed the Department of Defense’s first-ever diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) education chief for making anti-white racist statements and profiting from left-wing books sold to schools serving children of American military servicemembers. Under pressure from Congress, the DoD announced the dismantling of its DEI division, but recent revelations suggest a mere rebranding – a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on DEI.

Despite the official dismantling, DoDEA school chief Thomas Brady has incorporated DEI specialists into key administration divisions, forming a DEI “Steering Committee.” The Department of Defense has kept this committee’s members and activities shrouded in secrecy, refusing to disclose essential information in a potential violation of federal transparency laws. Redacted PowerPoint slides from an internal DEI team meeting indicate efforts to conceal the nature and extent of DEI operations.

DoDEA removed videos from its 2022 DEI school summit after they were featured in a Claremont Institute report titled “Grooming Future Revolutionaries.” The report exposed DEI initiatives encouraging teachers to discuss “gender identity” with 4-year-olds, facilitate child gender transitions without parental knowledge, and implement lesson plans on “privilege” likely to upset children. One identified DEI specialist, Michelle Woodfork, promoted a near-religious DEI affirmation statement at the summit.

The DoD’s actions suggest an awareness that the public and servicemembers might disapprove of their DEI activities, emphasizing the need for secrecy. Congressional intervention for transparency is warranted to ensure accountability, even if it may affect military recruiting and readiness negatively.

While a Republican president is a potential solution, immediate actions within the first 100 days should include firing DoDEA school chief Thomas Brady, dismantling the DEI apparatus, and issuing an apology to American military service members. The covert indoctrination of servicemembers’ children should not be tolerated within the American military.
