Democrat Warns: Border Chaos Could Doom Biden’s Presidency

Amidst the Biden administration’s continuous mishandling of the border crisis, the situation has spiraled into a full-blown catastrophe, overwhelming cities, airports, and shelters along the southern border. President Joe Biden’s conspicuous absence, taking his 418th vacation day before the 2024 presidential election while the border crisis intensifies, sends a distressing message of negligence and incompetence.

Even Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar of Texas, during an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront,” expressed his apprehensions, predicting significant losses for the Democratic Party due to Biden’s lackluster response to the border crisis. Cuellar emphasized the urgent need for deportations, a measure crucial for addressing the issue, a solution that the president adamantly refuses to consider.

Cuellar underscored the Biden administration’s failure to acknowledge the immigration turmoil and the distress faced by border communities, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the escalating crisis. The Texas congressman criticized Biden’s apparent reluctance to take the necessary actions to secure the border, highlighting the need for detaining illegal aliens and expediting their hearings, followed by swift deportations for those deemed ineligible.

Drawing attention to the staggering inefficiency in the immigration system, Cuellar highlighted alarming statistics that indicate a substantial majority, nearly 87 percent, of immigrants face rejection after several years of legal processing. He referenced data spanning the last 25 years, revealing that only a meager 13 percent of illegal migrants gain approval in immigration court hearings.

The glaring consequences of this border mismanagement are apparent in reports indicating a record surge in “gotaways,” individuals illegally entering the U.S. through the southern border. The overwhelming tally of over 13 million illegal aliens presently in the United States reflects the dire consequences of the Biden administration’s lax border policies. Reports from Arizona’s Tucson sector further underscore the severity of the crisis, with a doubling of encounters in October 2023 compared to the previous year, signifying the escalating magnitude of the border challenge.
