Americans continue to assert their Second Amendment rights with unwavering determination, as evidenced by the record-breaking gun sales in June. The FBI reported that background checks for gun purchases surpassed 1 million, marking the 47th consecutive month of such remarkable figures.
Out of the 2,152,187 background checks conducted last month, an impressive 1,110,696 were likely associated with gun purchases and transfers. The remaining checks were for carry permits and other security-related purposes. The National Shooting Sports Foundation, representing the industry, proudly acknowledged this milestone.
With a sense of jubilation, NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva declared, “Happy Independence Day!” He went on to highlight the significance of the occasion, stating, “Americans have another million reasons to celebrate this Independence Day. More than 1.1 million times in June, Americans exercised their Second Amendment rights to lawfully purchase a firearm. That extends the streak to 47 continuous months that background checks for firearm purchases have exceeded a million.”
Oliva emphasized the importance of these figures, which defy the demands of gun control politicians seeking to curtail citizens’ rights. He underscored that the American people, in their millions, continue to choose differently. They steadfastly opt to exercise their right to keep and bear arms, thereby upholding the vision of the nation’s Founding Fathers.
