Major Lawsuit: Indiana AG Rallies 18 States Against Biden’s Disastrous Border Policies

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is spearheading a lawsuit on behalf of 18 states against the Biden administration’s mishandling of the border crisis. The lawsuit specifically targets a policy known as the “Circumvention of Lawful Pathways,” implemented by the Department of Homeland Security to expand legal avenues for migrants to enter the United States. However, conservatives argue that this policy only exacerbates the border issue by attempting to redefine illegal crossings as “lawful pathways.”

According to the lawsuit, the Circumvention Rule is a half-hearted measure that creates loopholes and fails to address the true situation at the Southwest Border. It contends that the policy encourages migrants to make fraudulent asylum claims through the CBP One app, allowing them to avoid detection while presenting a distorted image of the border crisis. Far from reducing illegal immigration, conservatives argue that this policy makes it even easier for individuals to enter the country unlawfully.

Attorney General Rokita highlights the staggering numbers of illegal crossings, surpassing 10,000 within a 24-hour period, and emphasizes that a significant portion of these individuals includes hardened criminals and cartel members. Conservatives stress that such an invasion cannot be sustained and action must be taken to protect national security and the integrity of the immigration system.

Joining Indiana in this legal challenge are several states, including Tennessee, North Dakota, Alaska, Mississippi, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Virginia, New Hampshire, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Missouri, and Oklahoma. These states stand united in their disapproval of the Biden administration’s border policies and their commitment to upholding the rule of law.

A recent CBS News poll reveals that 63% of Americans disapprove of the Biden administration’s handling of the border, while only 37% express approval. This sentiment reflects the growing concern among conservatives and the general public regarding the administration’s failure to effectively address the border crisis.

Conservatives argue that securing the border and enforcing immigration laws are vital for safeguarding national security, protecting American jobs, and preserving the integrity of the immigration system. Through this lawsuit, conservative states are taking a stand against policies that they perceive as detrimental to the well-being of the nation and are demanding accountability and effective solutions to the border crisis.
