Illegal immigrants have reason to express gratitude to President Joe Biden, as his policies have left the southern border largely unguarded, allowing them easy access into the United States. This lax approach has led to the release of nearly 2,000 illegal immigrants from an overwhelmed processing facility in San Diego, pushing it far beyond its intended capacity of 750 individuals.
The scenes of illegal aliens being dropped off in the U.S. by bus, coming from diverse countries like China, India, Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania, and Colombia, highlight the scale of the border crisis. Since September alone, more than 125,000 illegal immigrants have been let loose onto the streets of San Diego due to the limited hold time of 72 hours at the shelter and the massive surge of aliens reaching the U.S.-Mexico border.
The lack of cooperation and information sharing from other countries makes it difficult for Border Patrol agents to vet these individuals properly. This situation poses significant security risks, as the backgrounds of these immigrants are often unknown, raising concerns about potential criminal elements entering the country unchecked.
Border Patrol agents are struggling to cope with this unprecedented influx, leading to a situation where CBP cannot thoroughly screen everyone before releasing them into the U.S., with court dates as the only form of control.
California’s status as a “sanctuary state,” coupled with incentives like free health care provided by Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, further exacerbates the problem. These policies attract more illegal immigrants, with nearly 81,000 processed at the San Diego Migrant Welcome Center since October, making California a major entry point for those seeking to enter the country unlawfully.
