Trump praises the RNC’s program, which encourages early voting in-person, absentee voting, mail voting, and ballot harvesting where legal. This backing from Trump is a significant development for the party, considering his history of scrutinizing election issues. He calls on Republicans to get tougher and fight harder to cast their votes and get their ballots turned in earlier to prevent Democrats from rigging the polls against them on election day. Trump believes that such rigging occurred in the 2020 election and must not be allowed to happen again in 2024.
Trump’s push for Republicans to work within the current election rules while advocating for changes in the future echoes his earlier statements. Although he believes in implementing same-day voting, paper ballots, and voter ID, he recognizes that until Republicans regain power to change voting laws, they must play the game like Democrats under the current system.
