Biden Fumbles Again Announcing Amnesty Plan

In recent weeks, President Joe Biden has displayed several troubling instances that have heightened concerns about his mental decline and cognitive abilities. Despite these visible moments, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has dismissed the video evidence as “cheap fakes.” The latest of these incidents occurred on Tuesday during Biden’s announcement of his amnesty plan.

The event, titled “New Actions to Keep Families Together,” was heavily promoted on the White House briefing room website. However, the transcript of Biden’s remarks is conspicuously absent, and it’s not difficult to understand why. During the event, Biden appeared confused while trying to thank Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who was standing right beside him. Biden’s muddled attempt to introduce Mayorkas left the official awkwardly smiling, alongside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and others who seemed complicit in this display of elder abuse.

Red State’s Bonchie captured the gravity of the situation, noting that this incident was “one of the worst yet” in Biden’s string of cognitive lapses. Another video from the same event shows Biden slurring his words, further raising concerns about his ability to lead. In the few moments when he appeared more coherent, Biden boasted about the popularity of his amnesty plan, dismissing the American people’s legitimate concerns about illegal immigration and related violent crimes.

Biden asserted that the executive order he announced is “overwhelmingly supported by the American people, no matter what the other team says.” This claim starkly contrasts with recent polling data, such as the CBS News/YouGov America poll, which revealed that 62 percent of voters support mass deportations of illegal immigrants. The data also highlighted that this sentiment transcends partisan lines, undermining Biden’s dismissive remarks.

This week alone, reports have emerged about illegal immigrants involved in heinous crimes, including the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl and the alleged rape and murder of a mother of five. Despite these incidents, Biden insisted, “We can both secure the border and provide legal pathways to citizenship,” while claiming that the American public’s patience is merely being tested by their fears. He even suggested that the public doesn’t fully understand the situation.

Throughout Tuesday’s press briefing, Jean-Pierre evaded questions about the timing of Biden’s executive action on amnesty, especially concerning its proximity to an election year. Biden’s concerning moments on Tuesday were reminiscent of his Juneteenth event the previous Monday, where, despite the White House eventually releasing a transcript, there was no mention of his frequent slurring and verbal missteps. This pattern of behavior continues to fuel doubts about Biden’s capability to effectively govern.
